U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Shane Saiz with 3rd Low Altittude Air Battalion Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing carries the barrel of the M2 Browning .50 Cal machine gun aboard the SS Curtiss Sept. 10, 2018, in preparation for Valiant shield. Valiant Shield is a biennial, U.S.-only field training exercise (FTX) with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces in relation to current operational plans.
