Lance Cpl. Ryan Jackson, a crew chief with the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773, loads a belt of 7.62 mm rounds into an M240 machine gun attached to a UH-1N Iroquois helicopter during a Joint Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel exercise held Oct. 15 here. The Joint TRAP exercise tested the reservists’ ability to recover downed-aircrew members behind enemy lines and return them to a safe location. Jackson provided cover fire so the downed Marine aircrew members could be rescued. Jackson is a Cleveland, Texas, native.
