Army Soldiers of the 42nd “Rainbow” Division pace up and down the water front performing sentry duty near Nieder Breisig, Germany, December 19, 1918. The unit was known as the Rainbow Division for its inclusion of various National Guard units from across the United States, served as an occupation force following the armistice that ended World War I.
