Retired Senior Airman Karah Behrend is preparing for the wheelchair rugby competition at the 2019 Air Force Trials at Nellis AFB, Nev. She uses this rough and tumble sport as part of her overall recovery and to increase resiliency for her long-term health. Air Force Trials is a Paralympic-style competitive event featuring eleven adaptive sports. It has a two-fold purpose, one is to select the 40-person primary and 10-person alternate members for Team Air Force. The second is to highlight the effectiveness of adaptive sports in aiding wounded warriors in their recovery and long-term resiliency. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Shawn Sprayberry)
