JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 15, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Falicha Garrett, a surgical technician and leading petty officer at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Orthopedics Clinic, discusses Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Robert O’Bryant’s evaluation. Garrett, a native of Bakersfield, California, recently returned from an 11-month deployment to U.S. Africa Command as a member of a ground surgical team. “We provided surgical and emergency medical capability across NATO and U.S. compounds. We treated 309 service members and civilian contractors, for minor to major issues. This was my fourth deployment, and we assisted with many humanitarian missions. Each person can make a huge difference with the simple things.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
