JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 12, 2019) – Lt. Michael Kenner, a radiation health officer at Naval Branch Health Clinic Kings Bay and Naval Hospital Jacksonville, performs a survey after a patient’s nuclear stress test in the Radiology Clinic. Kenner, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, says, “I have two responsibilities: protect patients receiving care, and protect the staff members who work with radiation and radioactive materials. Radiation Health Officers have the privilege of serving at clinics and hospitals around the world, as well as serving in the fleet aboard nuclear powered aircraft carriers.” On Aug. 4, the Navy Medical Service Corps celebrates 72 years of exceptional service.
