Joey M. Daniel, a 12-year-old native of Santa Ana, Calif., shows his shooting target during a military immersion event here, April 21. The artillery Marines of 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, hosted “Jane Wayne Day,” an event which allows loved ones to participate in military training and gain a better understanding of their Marines’ jobs. Guests completed a portion of the Combat Fitness Test, learned martial arts moves, fired the M4 assault rifle, examined artillery weapon systems and witnessed live-fire demonstrations with machine guns and rocket launches.
