Sgt. Joseph O. Edwards, a fire direction assistant operations chief with Romeo Battery, 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, teaches marksmanship to Stephanie H. Brown during a military immersion event here, April 21. Edwards, a 25-year-old native of Sacramento, Calif., volunteered to coach for the event. The artillery Marines of 5th Bn., 11th Marines, hosted “Jane Wayne Day,” an event which allows loved ones to participate in military training and gain a better understanding of their Marines’ jobs. Guests completed a portion of the Combat Fitness Test, learned martial arts moves, fired the M4 assault rifle, examined artillery weapon systems and witnessed live-fire demonstrations with machine guns and rocket launches.
