Sarah N. Alvey, a 24-year-old native of Denver, receives camouflage face paint during a military immersion event for family and friends of Marines here, April 21. The artillery Marines of 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, hosted “Jane Wayne Day,” an event which allows loved ones to participate in military training and gain a better understanding of their Marines’ jobs. Guests completed a portion of the Combat Fitness Test, learned martial arts moves, fired the M4 assault rifle, examined artillery weapon systems and witnessed live-fire demonstrations with machine guns and rocket launches.
