88th Readiness Division senior most Non-commissioned officer, Command Sgt. Maj. Ronnie Farmer was honored to step in last minute as a pallbearer in the military honors funeral of former Army Sgt. Robert Hale. Mr. Hale served in the 101st Airborne Division in WWII. He made the jump on D-Day, and fought at Market Garden, and Bastogne. He was wounded twice before finally returning home. Humble and quiet about his war-time service, he became a painting contractor and raised a family. Hale's grandson, Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Timothy Keyes, was present at the funeral. He presented Hale's folded American flag to his mother, Pamela Keyes, daughter of Hale. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class John Freese)
