SAN DIEGO (Sept. 18, 2019) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class David Wilson, an orthopedic technician assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), places a splint on an independent duty corpsman student during a clinical training exercise in the hospital’s orthopedics casting room Sept. 18. Hospital corpsmen in the orthopedics casting room support NMCSD’s mission of preparing service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training, and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
