NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY REDZIKOWO, Poland (Sept. 29, 2019) – Capt. Jon Grant, commanding officer of Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, points out the location of the base’s new housing and dining facility to Rep. John Garamendi (D-Calif.) during a visit to the base on Sept. 29, 2019. Garamendi led a six-person U.S. congressional delegation to learn more about the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) mission and the progress of construction at NSF Redzikowo, which will house about 200 Sailors and civilians once fully operational. The bipartisan delegation was given a tour of the installation’s housing facility and operations center. Once construction is completed, the Aegis Ashore site in Poland will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
