NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY REDZIKOWO, Poland (Sept. 29, 2019) – From left, Rep. John Garamendi (D-Calif.) speaks with Capt. Todd Boehm, Aegis Combat System program manager, Capt. Jon Grant, commanding officer of Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, and Cmdr. Joshua Lewis, commander of Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) Poland after a tour of Redzikowo on Sept. 29, 2019. Garamendi led a six-member U.S. congressional delegation on a visit to the installation to learn more about the Aegis Ashore mission, gain a better understanding about the partnerships with the surrounding community and how Sailors like being stationed in Poland. Grant provided the bipartisan delegation with a walking tour through the multipurpose facility and operations center, which are still under construction but nearing the final finishing stages. Once construction is completed, the Aegis Ashore site in Poland will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
