Sgt. Sammy R. Allan, a Nashville, Tenn., native with 14th Marine Regiment based in Huntsville, Ala., sits inside of a high-mobility artillery rocket system June 11 after the vehicle was staged in Public Square in downtown Cleveland in preparation for Marine week Cleveland June 11-17. In addition to the 21 present-day vehicles staged at static displays throughout downtown Cleveland, 16 Vietnam vehicles were also on display. More than 750 Marines will participate in Marine Week Cleveland. The city of Cleveland provided tremendous support to the Marines as they drove their vehicles through the streets, according to 1st Sgt. Ryan Legg, a 1st sergeant with 4th Landing Support Battalion, based in Vienna, Ohio. Marine Week Cleveland has received a warm welcome from Cleveland officials. “The city of Cleveland has been very good to us,” said Legg.
