Crewmembers who performed the final UH-1N 'Huey' flight for U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations, El Paso Air Branch, walk away from the aircraft to officially end the aircrafts' operational status July 29, 2020. The UH-1N medium-lift helicopter was an important tool used by AMO to perform their law-enforcement missions as well as in support of sister components such as Border Patrol. The aircraft shown, N7247N, was previously operated by the U.S. Marine Corps as Bureau # 160836. AMOs El Paso Air Branch is located at the El Paso International Airport and supports a vast territory covering New Mexico, West Texas and Oklahoma. The aircraft and crew received an honorary water-cannon salute and the crew was met by gathered family, friends and co-workers who celebrated the occasion. The UH-1N helicopters will be sold on the commercial market with the money returned to support other aircraft maintenance and sustainment programs.
