An Air-Interdiction Officer assgined to U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations, El Paso Air Branch, monitors the slowing rotors of UH-1N, N7247N, after the aircraft types final landing July 29, 2020. The last operational mission was flown along the U.S./Mexico border in support of law-enforcement operations. N7247N, was previously operated by the U.S. Marine Corps as Bureau # 160836. AMOs El Paso Air Branch is located at the El Paso International Airport and supports a vast territory covering New Mexico, West Texas and Oklahoma. The aircraft and crew received an honorary water-cannon salute and the crew was met by gathered family, friends and co-workers who celebrated the occasion. The UH-1N helicopters will be sold on the commercial market with the money returned to support other aircraft maintenance and sustainment programs.
