Cpl. Jennifer Perez, water support technician, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, receives the Marine Corps Engineer Associations Utility Marine of the Year award from Brig. Gen. Bobbi Shea, the commanding general of 1st MLG, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 20, 2020. This award is presented annually to a utilities Marine that has gone above and beyond their peers while taking initiative in improving their occupational field. While attached to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Central Command, Perez took on the role of engineer platoon maintenance chief, a role normally held by a staff sergeant and successfully managed the maintenance of equipment worth over $3 million.
