Ecuadorian army soldiers from the Demining Command in General Marco Aurelio Subian Martinez military fort at La Balvina Quito, Ecuador, listen to a block of instruction about the technical survey of a known area. This technique is to safely prepare the terrain on a minefield to start the demining process on a known minefield area. U.S. Army South deployed a team of Soldiers to Ecuador for a two-week long course as part of the Subject Matter Expert Exchange program sponsored by USSOUTHCOM in which they exchange techniques and ideas to improve their workflow and knowledge.
