US Army soldiers introduced the use of the laser range finder to the Ecuadorian soldiers to safely calculate distance on a minefield and minimize injuries. U.S. Army South deployed a team of soldiers to Ecuador for a two-week long course as part of the Subject Matter Expert Exchange program sponsored by USSOUTHCOM in which they exchange techniques and ideas to improve their workflow and knowledge.
