View from Combs Hill at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, located at Manalapan, N.J., July 7, 2021. Maj. Gen. Nathaniel Greene’s Continental Army artillery, which was located near the top of the Hill, forced the withdrawal of British troops at the Battle of Monmouth, June 28, 1778. It was last battle of Philadelphia campaign during the American Revolutionary War. The Park was dedicated June 28, 1978, the battle’s bicentennial.
