Schoolchildren walk along the newly rehabilitated 1.8-kilometer road in western Mosul, dissecting through the heart of the city’s oldest commercial district, an area devastated during the campaign to drive out ISIS in 2016-2017. The USAID IGPA/Takamul Project supported the Ninewa Governorate to rehabilitate the city by providing tools, systems, and knowledge that facilitate transparent bidding and project implementation. IGPA/Takamul’s bidding tool simplifies the contracting process and provides clear-cut qualification and evaluation criteria, making it possible for qualified local small and medium enterprises to participate in government contracts.
