Maj. Gen. Ben Corell, Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, speaks with Dr. Doug Jacobson, a professor of electrical computer engineering at Iowa State University, during the school’s first international cyber competition on May 18, 2022. The Iowa Air National Guard’s 168th Cyberspace Operations Squadron partnered with the Kosovo Security Force and invited several educational institutions throughout Kosovo to participate virtually. ISU has hosted regular cyber competitions since 2005 to allow Iowa students across the state to test their knowledge under stress. The school recognized an opportunity in early 2022 to broaden the scope of the competition by collaborating with IANG and Kosovo cyber professionals. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
