JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July 19, 2022) Rear Adm. Jeromy B. Williams, incoming commander of U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC), returns the guidon to the care of U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Walter J. Zajkowski, senior enlisted leader of SOCPAC, during a Change of Command ceremony aboard the USS Missouri. During the change of command, the guidon was passed from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Joshua M. Rudd, the former commander, to Williams, representing the transfer of responsibility. Williams, who was previously the Joint Staff J3 Deputy Director for Special Operations and Counterterrorism, acknowledged SOCPACs critical role in strengthen our foundation, relationships and interoperability with our partners and Allies, and maintain flexibility to respond rapidly to emerging threats in support of a free and open IndoPacific.
