A volunteer Airman from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, runs with a U.S. Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet from Okkodo High School, Guam, during a 1.5 mile run at the 2nd annual JROTC Fitness Challenge hosted at John F. Kennedy High School, Guam, Feb. 25, 2023. The Guam JROTC Fitness Challenge was created by Senior Enlisted Airmen from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, designed to combat the fitness issue that some cadets face. According to these Airmen, cadets are provided a full scholarship through the ROTC program, but lose it when they fail the fitness requirements. This challenge adds friendly competition with mentorship to provide help to those that are close to the risk of failure. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Pedro Tenorio)
