With USAID’s support, a group of nine date-derivative companies in Kebili, Tunisia, will nearly double their sales and create 50 jobs by the end of 2024. While date derivatives are in high demand in international markets, smaller producers often struggle to access these opportunities due to limited production capacity, a lack of financing, and poor marketing. USAID’s Tunisia JOBS program will help these nine companies, which produce food, cosmetic, and decorative products, combine their resources to take on larger orders, including from France, Germany, the U.S., and Qatar, by registering as an economic interest group and developing an e-commerce website.
