230418-N-ML137-1022 KEKAHA, Hawai‘i (April 18, 2023) A 19th century laundry iron, a historical artifact from the cultural resources department at Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Barking Sands, was recovered on base and was potentially used during the plantation era of the Mānā Plain were PMRF currently resides. PMRF is the world’s largest instrumented multi-environment range capable of supporting surface, subsurface, air and space operations simultaneously.
