Soldiers from the 401st Quartermaster Detachment, an Army Reserve water purification detachment from Lock Haven, P.a., get some much needed rest Nov. 13 at the Army Reserve center, Fort Hamilton, N.Y. prior to conducting water removal operations in Breezy Point, N.Y. The unit's soldiers and pumps have removed millions of gallons of water since Nov. 3, in direct support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, state and local officials as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. The 410th, 431st and 401st Quartermaster Detachments, all Army Reserve water purification detachments, are deployed to pump the water out of areas most affected by the storm.
