Six inch hoses are loaded into vehicles ready for re-deployment to Fort Hamilton, N.Y., Nov. 13 from a residential area in Breezy Point, N.Y. Despite working in difficult weather conditions, the 401st, 410th and 431st Quartermaster Detachments, Army Reserve water purification units, utilized large pumps capable of pumping 600 gallons per minute to remove the water from areas most effected by Hurricane Sandy. Once the water is removed, necessary work will begin to restore utilities to the area. The unit is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, state, local and city officials.
