SrA Daisy Kurtenbach has continuously displayed outstanding performance, exemplary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Air Force. One of Kurtenbach’s most commendable roles was as the lead planner for the annual U.S. and Republic of Korea Base Readiness Exercise. In this critical position, she demonstrated exceptional planning, skills, and acumen, overseeing the creation of three major exercise scenarios for six joint international teams involving a total of 155 personnel. Her meticulous coordination of the completion of 42 wartime tasks ensured seamless and synchronized efforts from the coalition forces, thereby guaranteeing the success and optimal readiness of all participating teams. Kurtenbach’s remarkable contributions in this exercise exemplify her exceptional capabilities as an outstanding Airman Engineer. Furthermore, her selection as project lead for a critical infrastructure project speaks volumes about her exceptional leadership qualities. With Kurtenbach’s guidance and expertise, a four-person team successfully modernized 29 command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence items, which were valued at an impressive $108,000. The project's successful completion resulted in significant enhancements to the Emergency Operations Center capabilities, further demonstrating her ability to deliver exceptional results. In addition to her project leadership and planning prowess, Kurtenbach’s dedication to mission readiness is evident in her involvement in drafting a base plan supporting Time-Phased Force Deployment operations at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Through her efforts, she skillfully created 62 readiness line items and conducted comprehensive training and evaluations for 184 wing inspection team members. As a result of her dedication and expertise, three wings, two Geographically Separated Units, and a Base Defense Element achieved full mission capability, playing a crucial role in supporting Operational Plan of Attack requirements for North Korea deterrence. In just under four years of service, her outstanding achievements and contributions have earned her several prestigious awards, including Airman of the Quarter, Senior Airman Below the Zone, and Airman of the Year.
