2d Lt Erin Barr is an Air Force Academy graduate who entered the Air Force only a year ago. She has made an immediate impact on the Air Force and Fairchild mission by assuming the role of Community Planner, normally a GS-12 position, and has done a spectacular job handling the responsibilities. She is validating the base’s 19 Mission Development Plans comprising of 70 projects over a 20-year span, supporting 14 organizations. Her performance has been lauded by the MSG Commander as “Performing above grade!” She has also led a $266,000 troop training project syncing eight CE crafts, five units and 2200 labor hours to construct an alternate main gate access in support of a larger main gate enhancement project, ensuring access to over 10,000 personnel and offering a safe driving route during the 300-day gate closure. Barr is pursuing her MBA in Non-Profit and Public Management and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She also volunteers her time with local animal shelters as a foster parent to animals awaiting adoption which relieves pressure on overburdened shelters and provides better care for the animals. She is currently the foster parent of a 22-year-old cat name Shoe. The accomplishments of Barr have earned her back-to-back CGO of the Quarter awards and a CGO of the Quarter award at the MSG level. After only her first year in the Air Force, she is a shoe-in for the CGO of the Year award.
