The Post Exchange at Camp McCoy, Wis., shown here in 1950, provided numerous facilities and services for Soldiers and other authorized personnel. One main Post Exchange and nine branch exchanges were in operation on the post. Refreshment bars were open during motion picture hours in the four theaters on the post. The exchange supervised three cafeterias plus six snack bars — the latter are located in the branch exchanges. There were 10 barber shops on the post, one bowling alley (closed in the summers), a golf driving range, and two guest houses. The Post Exchange also maintained an optometrist, portrait studio, watch repair and engraving service, two warehouses, a maintenance and carpentry shop, a food service warehouse, gasoline service station, and a mobile PX unit. All of these services supported Soldiers training at McCoy from 1950-53 for the Korean War. (U.S. Army Historical Photo)
