Chief Boatswain's Mate Matthew Willing is pinned by Chief Boatswain's Mate Adam Melancon during the FY 13 chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony held on the forecastle of guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89). Mustin inducted six CPO's into the chief's mess, who received their gold anchors after senior leadership spoke about the significance of the insignia, the title and the responsibility of the promotion. USS Mustin is forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan as part of Destroyer Squadron 15 and is currently on deployment in the Pacific Ocean.
