KINGSLAND, Ga. (Jan. 19, 2024) - A student from Camden County High School helps a group of children build cars at a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) outreach event at the Camden County Library. Students from CCHS are mentored and sponsored by U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) employees who participate in STEM outreach in Camden and surrounding counties. The STEM cart with all the supplies for this event was donated by SSP's Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT), located in Kings Bay, Georgia. Employees from SSP sites, like SWFLANT, are heavily involved in nationwide naval STEM outreach, volunteering to provide mentorship and sponsorship in local communities where their sites or commands are located.
