COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. (Jan. 30, 2023) - Students from William J. Palmer high school test a project during their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) team build season kickoff focused on honing Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Students created the VR experience using two headsets donated to the school by two leading corporations in the technology sector. Students receive mentorship through U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs Project Management Office for Flight Systems (SPF). Employees from SSP sites, like SPF, are heavily involved in nationwide naval STEM outreach, volunteering to provide mentorship and sponsorship in local communities where their sites or commands are located.
