U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Dillon Buck, Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival (MCIWS), U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC), observes as Marines use emergency flotation devices made from their uniforms during water survival training at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, Feb. 27, 2024. MARFORPAC MCIWS trained Marines from units around the island, including the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, through basic and intermediate swim qualifications to fulfill their swim qualification requirements during this multiple-hour exercise. Marines must be able to understand and apply flotation techniques to demonstrate their survivability in an aquatic environment. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jonathan McElderry)
