A AC-130J Ghostrider sits on display at The Great Texas Airshow at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, April 7, 2024. Static displays give the community the opportunity to see inside some of the Air Force’s most impactful assets and talk to the service members who use and maintain them. The AC-130J Ghostrider's primary missions are close air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance. The AC-130J provides ground forces an expeditionary, direct-fire platform that is persistent, ideally suited for urban operations and delivers precision low-yield munitions against ground targets.
