Dale Maratas, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) life support investigator (LSI), detaches a wet screen pipe during a DPAA recovery operation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, March 6, 2024. Wet screening is where all soil is washed through wire mesh with high-pressure hoses to find any potential osseous material, life support equipment or material evidence.
