U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Justin Coleman, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) short term individual augmentee (STIA) explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician, sweeps for any metal hits during a DPAA recovery operation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, March 17, 2024. EOD sweeps are performed prior to every dig to ensure the safety of the team and to help locate possible life support evidence that may assist in the identification of missing personnel.
