SILVERDALE, Wash. (March 26, 2024) - Strategic Weapons Facility-Pacific participate (SWFPAC) Security Specialist John Wilkin collects used model rocket engines, and ensures faulty engines are replaced. This group of students from Ridgetop Middle School is the first class that launched their rockets twice, requiring coordination of exchanging fuses and repacking parachutes. SWPFAC volunteers participate in Rocket Launches every school quarter at Ridgetop and partner with local schools to teach other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics learning activities throughout the year. SWPFAC is the command dedicated to assembling, maintaining, and storing TRIDENT II D5 Missiles and deploying them on fleet ballistic missile submarines.
