SILVERDALE, Wash. (March 26, 2024) - Strategic Weapons Facility-Pacific Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Lead Chani Wenning steadies a rocket while a student from Ridgetop Middle School’s Introduction to Engineering class connects the launcher to the fuse inside the rocket engine. SWFPAC STEM volunteers have partnered with Ridgetop and the Intro to Engineering class to host rocket launches for the last two school years, giving students an opportunity to plan, build, and launch their own rockets. SWPFAC is the command dedicated to assembling, maintaining, and storing TRIDENT II D5 Missiles and deploying them on fleet ballistic missile submarines. We are devoted to serving our nation by providing safe, secure, credible, and affordable sea-based missile systems.
