U.S. Air Force Col. Ryan Garlow, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, wears an authentic World War II U.S. Army Air Force uniform at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, March 8, 2024. The uniform, made up of two separate original uniforms, was loaned to him by James Clarey, curator of the Second Air Division Heritage Gallery. The top is a European Theatre of Operations (ETO) jacket originally worn and owned by Capt. Philip Parsons, 735th Bomb Squadron pilot, 453rd Bomb Group, Old Buckenham, Norfolk, England. Garlow’s World War II uniform pants were originally owned and worn by Capt. Mike Benarcik, also a 453rd Bomb Group pilot. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere)
