U.S. Army Maj. Joe Pruiett, from Medon, Tenn., reaches for a hooded falcon while trying on traditional Qatari clothing at Camp As Sayliyah on, Apr. 10. "It's such an amazing bird, you can feel the power," said Pruiett. U.S. troops discovered a deeper understanding of Arab-Islamic life in the Middle East during a two-day cultural event on Apr. 10 and 11. Qatar International Adventures supplied most of the Arabic atmosphere and educational experience, to include camels, falcons, tents, clothing, beverages, food and henna body art. Local nationals provided explanations and guidance into their time-honored traditions.
