U.S. Army 1st Lt. Karly Mangen, from Chisago Lakes, Minn., cheers tea glasses with Sgt. 1st Class Jeremy Myers from Coon Rapids, Minn., while on top of camels at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar, on April 10. Mangen is the officer in charge of the U.S. Central Command rest and recuperation pass program at Camp As Sayliyah. Myers is the non-commissioned officer in charge. During a two-day cultural event, troops were able to discover a deeper understanding of Arab-Islamic life in the Middle East. Qatar International Adventures supplied most of the Arabic atmosphere and educational experience, to include camels, falcons, tents, clothing, beverages, food and henna body art. Local nationals provided explanations and guidance into their time-honored traditions.
