Matthew Carnal, the aeromedical safety officer for Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), observes a Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) US-2 aircraft with Air Rescue Squadron 71 during a demonstration for U.S. Marines and Sailors with MAG-12, 1st MAW, III MEF, MAG-13, 3rd MAW, I MEF, and Carrier Air Wing 5, Carrier Strike Group 5, Flagship USS Ronald Reagan, over the Pacific Ocean, June 26, 2024. Marines and Sailors observed JASDF personnel as they performed search and rescue, disaster relief, and touch-and-go drills.
