LITTLETON, Co. (Aug. 8, 2024) – Vice Adm. Johnny R. Wolfe Jr., director of U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) speaks at a change of command for SSP’s Project Management Office for Flight Systems (SPF) Thursday. Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Woehrman (sitting right) was relieved by Cmdr. Christopher Tilley (sitting left), the former Weapons Officer at Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific, during the ceremony which marks longstanding tradition of passing leadership responsibilities in the Navy. Vice Adm. Wolfe lauded the critical work SPF has done to guarantee the success of the Nation's strategic deterrent as an underwriter for the safety of all Americans and reassurance to our allies, worldwide. SPF—one of SSP’s many field sites—provides the technical oversight and fleet support for the nation's sea-based strategic deterrent and equip the nation’s Warfighting Navy with safe, secure, reliable, and effective weapon systems (U.S. Navy Photo by Yeoman Submarine 2nd Class Alakai Merino/Released).
