LITTLETON, Co. (Aug. 8, 2024) – Vice Adm. Johnny R. Wolfe Jr., director of U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) (left) congratulates outgoing Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Woehrman (right) during a change of command for SSP’s Project Management Office for Flight Systems (SPF) Thursday. Capt. Woehrman was relieved by Cmdr. Christopher Tilley, the former Weapons Officer at Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific, during the ceremony which marks longstanding tradition of passing leadership responsibilities in the Navy. Vice Adm. Wolfe praised Capt. Woehrman's leadership which ensured growth and development of the workforce; improvements to infrastructure and capabilities; and oversaw multiple critical operation tests for the strategic weapon systems, ensuring submarine and sailor warfighting readiness. 20SPF—one of SSP’s many field sites—provides the technical oversight and fleet support for the nation's sea-based strategic deterrent and equip the nation’s Warfighting Navy with safe, secure, reliable, and effective weapon systems (U.S. Navy Photo by Yeoman Submarine 2nd Class Alakai Merino/Released).
