Cpl. Stephen J. Gaffney, a native of Cranberry Township, Pa., and landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 22, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, uses a metal detector to sweep a training field for simulated improvised explosive devices during an exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 7, 2013. Gaffney used the metal detector to locate possible IEDs, which were placed throughout the area by explosive ordnance disposal technicians.
