U.S. Army Maj. Blair Dancy, associate director of the Experimental Therapeutics Branch, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and U.S. Army Lt. Col Charles DiTusa, Division of Molecular Biology chief, U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease, moderate a breakout session on new approach methodologies and novel in vivo models for the development of infectious disease countermeasures, during the annual Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) conference, Kissimmee, Florida, August 28, 2024. MHSRS, which is the Department of Defense’s premier military medical science research conference, was attended by over 4,000 people from the military, academia, private industry, and international organizations. Many researchers from WRAIR shared their research during breakout sessions and poster sessions, with four of them winning first place, second place, third place, and honorable mention for their posters.
