Dr. James DeMar, principal investigator with Medical Readiness Systems Biology, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, speaks about his research on changes in the brain after blast exposure during a poster session at the annual Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) conference, Kissimmee, Florida, August 27, 2024. MHSRS, which is the Department of Defense’s premier military medical science research conference, was attended by over 4,000 people from the military, academia, private industry, and international organizations. Many researchers from WRAIR shared their research during breakout sessions and poster sessions, with four of them winning first place, second place, third place, and honorable mention for their posters. Dr. DeMar was the first-place winner in poster session 2.
