U.S. Army Soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division Support Brigade receive instructions from an EIB cadre on how to properly clear, disassemble, assemble, and perform a functions check on an M500 series Shotgun during the weapon lane of the Expert Infantryman Badge, Expert Soldier Badge, and Expert Field Medical Badge (E3B) training at Fort Drum, New York, from Sept. 16-29, 2004. Mastering these steps ensures soldiers can maintain the weapon system effectively, minimizing malfunctions in the field and ensuring combat readiness. Thorough knowledge of each part of the weapon enables proper cleaning and functionality, critical to mission success.
